Happy fall and fishing season to all! Yesterday was my first trip to Turkey Swamp Park. I organized my lures and hooks into a tackle box and found my rod and net. Then I dug up some earthworms for bait. The sun was blaring in the early afternoon and I think it kept away many fish. Combined, my dad and I caught six fish throughout the course of two hours. Two of the fish were miniature, measuring only 4 inches each. The other four were between 7½ and 8 inches, which is a decent size for sunfish in this area. In other places toward the North, like the finger lakes, many sunfish, especially pumpkinseed, easily reach 10 inches.
